On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Is it summer, or is it over?

I hadn't attended our local cancer meeting for awhile so went this afternoon.  It was good to see folks mostly doing very well.

Our weather has settled down to a comfortable 80º F this afternoon.  It feels like summertime, but isn't oppressive.

In the meantime, I've moved my thinking onward toward school.  My class, which begins on August 20, is completely full with nary a seat available.  I'm so glad I signed up when I did.  In the grocery store today I bought three kinds of hot cereal - as though the school girl in me was preparing for the cold mornings ahead with long stretches until lunchtime.
