On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Catherine

I've already mentioned how I appreciate the simplicity of life in a tent.  Another facet of this is how we make do.  Instead of having several choices of salad dressing so everyone can make a personal decision, we just pack a little oil and vinegar and call it a day.  Nor do we need a proper salad bowl, the largest pot does double duty.  We continue to draw, but we don't pack pencil sharpeners, we hone our points with the same knife we use to pare the potatoes.  A lot of this is about space.  With a small car and three big people and a dog there isn't much extra room for gadgetry.  We make do.
