On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Back home

Youngest Grandson
and Demi
in Donner Lake
We've returned from the mountaintop - 7,250 feet - and have reentered the world of traffic and electricity.  Our clothes are already in the washer.  The kids were great and we all had a wonderful time with no serious mishaps.  The three of us divided campsite chores and tending to Demi so no one felt overburdened.

Last night we attended Ranger Rick's campfire program which has left me with an earworm after participating in one song.  The kids had homework to do over breakfast, but when we checked out the park aid rewarded them with bear whistles that light up.  We learned a lot about bears.  Most important - the gouges on the trees by our site were not made by bears, but by RVs bumping into them!

  1. Sounds like a wonderful trip - your grandchildren will remember the time you took with them for the rest of their lives and appreciate you all the more for it.
