Summer experiments
Another lovely day, low 80ºs F. The chickens are deliriously happy with all the melon rinds and ends of salad fixin's that are coming their way. They especially love strawberry caps, don't ask me why.
Youngest Grandson worked on his manga skills today. The project is unfinished so I can't show you. But I think he now has the most basic basics -- the spiky hair with shines, pointed chin, tiny nose and the large eyes with highlights. For the background I showed him how to use wet-on-wet watercolor, his new technique for the day (not quite mastered).
Someone was giving away succulents yesterday so I snagged this one, mostly to draw but I might plant it too. I didn't like the way the watercolor turned out so I added Prismacolor pencil over it. I should draw with colored pencils more often, I really like the way they blend.
