On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

The rain in May falls mainly on ....

I walked over to our "new" (remodeled) library this afternoon and hope to spend more time there.  I didn't need more books, but our county system is closed on Sundays and Mondays now - holiday or not - due to budget cuts and I wanted to pick up a book that had come in for me.  I also wanted to get some walking in.  The distance is only a half mile each way, but that's a mile which still takes more effort than I want to admit.

On the way home it started sprinkling, only a couple drops, but later there was a mini downpour and I was totally surprised.  Rain is unusual this late in May and our "slight chance" turned into something much more than I had expected.  But the tomato plants were happy about it and the air was lovely with that wet soil scent.

  1. Fun picture! I walked two miles a couple of days ago and was surprised at how hard it was. Obviously I need to do a lot more walking! It's getting hot here though moving into summer so i don't I'll be doing it, sad to say.

  2. We're lucky that, even on hot days, it cools off in the evening and is perfect for walking.
