On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Ready, set, grow!

Steve was out with a friend today so Youngest Daughter and I had the day to ourselves.  I shopped for garden supplies and plants.  Anything that connotes life, growth, development and hope is attractive to me.  My little tomato garden is thriving and tomorrow I'll set in the new herb garden.  Now that I'm reading up on antioxidants I want fresh herbs on everything!

  1. Good for you. I'd love to have a garden. I've read and seen it actually work in my husband, that getting some vitamin A or C at the same time as any fatty, meaty or egg meal can help keep the fats from clogging the arteries immediately after eating. My husband used to get angina after a bacon and egg breakfast so I added orange juice. It stopped the angina. Who knows just how powerful those various anti-oxidants can be?

  2. Wow! That's an incredible story!
