On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Just give me a tent and a candle

Last night the printer died.  Bummer!  When did I become so dependent on electronics?  I have my laptop, two Kindles and a smart phone.  I use each of those several times a day.  I can't remember a day when I didn't use the printer for something - scanning photos, printing handouts for Juvenile Hall and weekly letters to my kids, or duplicating important documents.  Steve was in the same predicament.  He prints sermons and legal materials - you can't file court documents without printing them out first.

We drove over to Staples - and could have walked if we didn't have that huge box to tote home.  Steve's laptop wouldn't accept the printer, but mine did.  So he has to go to the computer guy this week and get his operating system updated.  I just have to finish the wireless installation - which took an hour on the phone talking to technical assistance with the last printer, the now dead one.  I like the technology, but I loathe the transition periods with each new gizmo.

This evening we walked 1.4 miles (I measured online) and took photos of the cows at the halfway point.  Their life is so much simpler.  No, I don't wanna be a cow, but.....

  1. Cute cow. Too bad about the printer. Maybe it's time your husband updated his computer too! I just had to wait for expensive ink to arrive so I could do some more printing and I just ordered a new mouse so i can play games. Oh yeah, technology is both grand and a pain in the neck!

  2. It is so hard for me to believe how dependent I and everyone I know and every place I know are dependent on cyberspace. If something goes out, it is like losing a best friend. But considering that I never would have met your cow, I'll take technology.
