On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Back in motion

It took me forever to get ready for my Juvenile Hall groups today.  I hadn't been there at all for two weeks and I hadn't been in the boys' art group for three months.  When I was photocopying and packing supplies I kept remembering, Oh, I need this, I almost forgot that!  I mean, I almost forgot to pack Demi's dinner - she eats dinner with the kids too, as do I.

But it was super great to be back.  The staff works long hours, but I'm only there about four hours so I can walk in smiling, thrilled to see the kids and who ever is on duty.

It's just so good to feel well and have my life back once again.

I love the drawings of your little people.

  2. Hi Timaree -- The boys were great! There were three and they were all diligent in working in the new sketchbooks I gave them - and very appreciative.
