On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Stepping into the future

I felt well today, definitely turned the corner on the last infusion.  The weather was gorgeous and I grabbed Brix and a leash and walked him around the block.  I never dreamed that walking around the block would become an accomplishment - it's 1/3 mile - but that's more than I've been able to walk recently.  Now I can build up muscle from there.  I feel weak and tired, but I also feel hopeful and well.

 The long slog is over!

  1. Yay! A ⅓ mile is a good start. I bet Brix thought so too!
