On the couch
You can see why I enjoy Buley's visits so much! When she doesn't jump up with me it's Brix (most often) or Demi or Parisse.
I had chemotherapy yesterday, ran a bunch of errands today and crashed for a very long nap when I got home.
I don't know how I would have made it through all eight cycles without my dogs.
The only thing that's different in this photo is that today is a warm day. All winter I was on the sofa, but I was wrapped in a purple prayer shawl knitted for me by a parishioner at St. John's Episcopal Church in Lakeport, California. Another way to say it, I was wrapped in the congregation's prayers for several months and really, really appreciated their concern and generosity.

Dearest Barbara, I'm sorry I haven't commented but I want you to know I have been following your every post through all of your treatments and have kept you in my prayers every day. It warms my heart to see this beautiful photo of you resting with Buley - what a wonderful caregiver !! Keep the faith !

Hi Ginny - How great to hear from you again. Thank you so much for stopping by so often - whenever I see Las Vegas I wonder if it's you!
ReplyDeleteWrapped in prayer probably helped a lot too! Ah, warm weather. I wish we'd just be warm but we are at 98 degrees today! I went out and hoed the weeds from my garden at one end of the house today. Gotta get some kind of exercise! It was too hot though and I retreated to the house before watering. I'll do that this evening.
ReplyDeleteDogs can help us through just about anything! Bet they help keep you warm too!
