On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

A case of the wobblies

Steve drove me to Santa Rosa for the third Neupogen injection, but I was doing that fainting thing again in the parking lot and felt like a decrepit old lady walking in to the facility.  Neither Nerd nor I has the energy to draw today.  I cancelled out at Juvenile Hall - after I did all the prep work, but didn't have the energy to present the material or lead the group - and took to the sofa.  Brix and Demi slept on my feet, a good thing because I couldn't get warm and my joints ache.

I'm so very close to canceling the eighth cycle of Taxotere.  That would be a foolish move because completing it would guarantee a more stable remission, but I've had it, I really have.  I won't cancel, but it has crossed my mind...

Thank goodness for my favorite classical radio station, KDFC, in San Francisco, which I keep on for hours on end. You can listen to it streaming online, if you enjoy that kind of music, and then you would be keeping me company too.  That would make me very happy.

Please do not give up on the treatment. You are almost to the finish line. Walk or crawl, if you can. I know that is easy for me to say. I am not on the sofa in pain. I will stream the KDFC all day and night if it will help you. You are in my prayers, morning pages, and thoughts everyday.

  3. Thank you both. When I'm feeling sorry for myself I figure no one is noticing that I'm miserable so it really helps when you check in!
