On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Rainy day fun

A couple times a day Youngest Daughter says to me, "Mom, I hope you feel better soon," which sort of rips my heart out.  There's no reason to worry about me now and I feel badly that she's carrying such a heavy load.

This afternoon, when YD came home from her day program, I challenged her to several rounds of Connect Four - a big mistake because she won most of them!  I kept missing the diagonals and she exploited that weakness every time she could.

But it was fun and proved that I'm still alive.....
