On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

The patient patient

My HMO is keeping me very busy today.  I had a telephone appointment with a nurse practitioner early this morning to make some medication adjustments.  Later the oncologist called to change the prescription he ordered yesterday based on new test results.  Then I went in for the Neupogen injection - remember, that's the one that costs $3,000 if the government perceives it as a prescription when given at home but doesn't even have a co-pay if the nurse injects it at the facility.  There's a little law that could be changed....

It's been raining off and on all day.  It began during the night and was pouring down so hard that it woke me up - not a complaint because I love the sound and would have been disappointed had I missed it.  There have been showers off and on all day with more on the way.  Perfect!
