On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

(Further) under the weather

No surprise, with a weak immune system of course I caught Youngest Daughter's cold.  She'll return to her day program and job tomorrow after three days of the sniffles and a hacking cough, and then I'll move the vaporizer from her room to ours.  I've cancelled five hours of work so far this week, I just haven't been up to it.

President Obama is just 60 miles away in San Francisco.  He's welcome to come over after dinner for a cup of tea - I'd like to tell him that Oldest Daughter just got a new job! - but I'd hate to give him my cold....

  1. I hope the cold won't be too hard on you with your weakened immune system. Watch out for pheumonia!

I think the president would enjoy stopping by but the secret service probably won't let him!
