On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Two days later

Steve took Youngest Daughter to San Francisco for the day so she could shop for Christmas.  Every hour or so I'd get a photo on my cell phone as they documented their way through the city. Here's the Christmas tree at Union Square.

I'm having a slow, easy day.  I have the house to myself - well, myself + three dogs + one cat + five chickens.  I have nothing I have to get done today, which is good because I don't have the energy to do it.  So I've been sitting around a lot, dozing, trying to finish Steve's crossword puzzle which seems unusually difficult today.

The day is bright and sunny, the first lovely day all week.  A day for making a turkey sandwich, right?

  1. Sounds like you had an enjoyable and restful Thanksgiving. I'm so glad to hear it, you need rest and taking it easy! I can't believe your husband actually takes your daughter shopping...my husband pays other people to do his Christmas shopping - I can't complain, my sister knows me well and always chooses good stuff. My husband hates shopping, crowds, traffic and all that goes with it.
