On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Not out shopping

Our Thanksgiving couldn't have been nicer.  All three kids, spouses and grandchildren were here, two flying in from Honolulu.  I truly appreciate the effort made to have the entire family together this one day.

Steve baked pies, I cooked turkey and gravy and one daughter brought in all the side dishes.  She must have been cooking for two days.

Tomorrow Steve and Youngest Daughter will be in San Francisco to help her with her Christmas shopping.  This is a tradition going back over twenty years.  He takes her out to dinner at the St. Francis Hotel and they look at all the decorations in the downtown windows.  Her favorite is the one at Macy's which hosts Christmas displays put on by the SPCA with live kittens and puppies incorporated into the scene.

Me?  Oh, I have the day off!
