On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Lazy Mary, will you get up!

I have been unloading my schedule to prepare for upcoming chemotherapy and playing the invalid.  Translation:  I've been lounging around in my jammies, reading on the sofa, watching too much television and playing online solitaire.

It's unfortunate that I enjoy this play acting so much!  But I am in mild pain, taking narcotics, sleeping and watching the world from my window instead of being out amongst them.

I had yet another doctor's appointment today, but it was by phone so I didn't have to move very far.

Tomorrow I'll start pulling it together... that's the plan.

  1. ha ha ha! That's exactly what i do when I'm too sick to go to work. I think you deserve a little down time before you start the chemo - you will still be stuck at home but not able to enjoy all the little things you are doing now, so you should do them now so you get the full benefit of lazing around!
