On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Newest fun thing

Docent training for Bouverie Preserve, Glen Ellen, California, began yesterday.  I already knew four people in the class of over 40, a pleasant surprise.  After some history of the area, introductions and other orientation necessities we began our first hike of the property.  I saw two tiny junko nests, learned how to identify coyote scat, distinguished Queen Anne's Lace from Yarrow (I always mix those two up) and enjoyed the bay scented forest.  This training continues until mid-February and I'm gonna love every minute!

  1. sounds like fun training, not at all like school! I see you are doing anime now - that class really has you branching out - good job!
