On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

My other favorite color

It's that time of year again - the time when the trucks are leaving vineyards all over Sonoma County full of grapes from the various appellations.  Then the crush begins and, I swear, you can get drunk on the scent!

I had to buy hiking shoes for the environmental group I'm training with so this morning I was breaking them in with a short walk which took us past this vineyard. The deer netting was so high I had to lean way over the fence to catch a photo - didn't know what the camera was seeing - and hoped to heck I didn't drop my cell phone in the process because that would have created a whole new problem.

New problems, what I really don't need!
