On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Granny and her homework

This piece is too large for my scanner but you get the idea.  It's an assignment on values and color matching - matching the color with the grayscale value - which is difficult for me no matter how much I squint.  But I put lots of extra detail in the effort so I should make it through the class honorably.  I'm the second oldest person there, most of the students are in their early 20s at best.  Oh, to be that young!

  2. Ahh, but would you really want to be early 20 again? I am not sure that I would. Not sure what changes I would make if I were able to take the wisdom? well, the experience of my 60 + years and then do a do-over.
Nope, I will stay right here in my comfortable old shoes ...
