On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Appreciating what I have

So Piers Morgan - in an interview with Dan Rather and Douglas Brinkley - says this is clearly a dismal time for Americans... and for several other nations as well, I would add.  It feels like tough times - and for most of the nation even the weather refuses to cooperate.

Not so for here.  For several days now the high temperature has been 75-ish, absolutely lovely.  I've been walking more in the last several weeks than I have all year - with weather this gorgeous how could I not?

Walk and read, that's been my summer.  Perfect!
