On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

A brand new week

Now that I've signed up for classes through our local community college as well as docent training at Bouverie Preserve in Glen Ellen, California, I only have two weeks left of summer vacation.  I feel like a little kid looking forward to new school supplies and I'm looking forward to everything.

Our Sunday was cool and pleasant.  The sun didn't come through the clouds until afternoon and it was jacket weather morning and evening.  I enjoyed some reading time - that's what you do in the summer, right - and realized I had started almost ten books.  I'm in the midst of five on my Kindle, have three others in print and another on DailyLit.com.  There's probably a tenth one around here that I haven't accounted for.  I'm really into all of them, but I agree before you say it, it seems a bit excessive.

  1. ...I really like this painting! It's very interesting. Yesterday and today have been incredibly cool. After weeks and weeks of the high 90s, today feels cool at 78.
