Stand still!
I tried to draw Rocket while she was in her natural habitat but it wasn't easy. Then I inadvertently sprayed the sketchbook when I was watering the tomatoes so the page has a well-worn and wet look. Oh, well, I'm learning how to manage my outdoor supplies as well as trying out new outdoor skills.
The warm-up begins tomorrow but the last week has been as perfect as can be. I've been wearing a light jacket for our evening dog walking, something that will end very soon. It might get into the 90s by the weekend....
In the meantime, all is well. There are tiny green tomatoes forming and one cucumber ready to pick. The late sunflowers are more than a foot tall and might make it by September if I cross my fingers. It doesn't matter, it will still be warm in October, but I love sunflowers and am like a kid waiting for a birthday counting the days until they take off and bloom.
For me, it's all about being outdoors these days.

Okay, I'm pretty jealous of that "light jacket" talk! Here in Tennessee we're begging for mercy :) The heat is intolerable. Love the picture of Rocket, the spray appears a happy accident.
ReplyDeleteHi Susan -- This afternoon I tried pressing the pages with an iron - which helped quite a bit, but the next ten pages or so will be a little bumpy, sort of like the natural world, yes?
