Drip day
It's windy today. I spent most of the morning in Santa Rosa in the chemotherapy/infusion suite where I am every third week. I'm in a weird place medically - no sign of disease, but diagnosed at Stage 4 with limited chance of survival. There were so many lesions (back in 2002) that my bones were collapsing in on themselves and I was walking around on a fractured pelvis. It was the pain that led me to a doctor. And things got worse, much worse, before they got better.
So now I'm in remission, it's 9-1/2 years later, and I love to go to the infusion suite (for a maintenance dose that is obviously working) - it's basically a social occasion for me. I know everyone, I've seen staff get old and retire and still I'm there!

You're an inspiration! Thank you for sharing your story with the rest of us. It helps me keep perspective of what is truly important in life.
ReplyDeleteI think that's wonderful! Wow, 9 1/2 years. Keep up the good work.
