On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

After the holiday

Watching the parade
Things have settled down after the long holiday.  I forgot to take my sketchbook to Juvenile Hall this afternoon so drew a postcard for my grandson instead.  I rarely do imaginative drawing, but I enjoy drawing crowds for some reason, probably because I can!  After the fact I noticed that all the characters were male, but that probably was reflective of who I was with at the time.

I've been reading more and drawing less this summer, not a good thing.  I'm glad that I'm reading more - and wish I were reading a lot more - but I don't want to let my drawing slide because I notice a real reduction in skill if I miss only one day.  I have no excuse, I'm not overly scheduled, I could easily do more of both - and walk more too.

Oh resolutions, aren't they to be saved for January?
