On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Library dog

The kids were reading to Demi at the public library again this afternoon and you can tell by the photo that Demi was enjoying it.  We've been offering this free program for over two years now so Demi has a regular following with occasional newbies joining the fun.

I rejoined Weight Watchers online and have been totally absorbed in getting myself organized for what I hope will be major changes.  I've been walking so much more and am on a streak of 31 days, I think it is, as of today.  My only goal has been to walk for one mile, twenty minutes, but lately I've been walking two miles and finding new ways to add in a few more steps here and there.  I'm working on the theory that every little bit helps!

  2. Unfortunately our library hours are going to be cut and that may or may not affect Demi's little program. We're waiting for more information.
