On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

In admiration

If I thought I could grow roses of any color as gorgeous of these I'd be digging up a garden plot in a rush to get started! These are from the rose garden in Sonoma Plaza and I was stunned by bush after bush of perfect color and unblemished leaves.  Definitely out of my league!

  1. And mine! I have one rose bush which my daughter gave me. It was literally covered in roses when I left for California several days ago but once summer hits the bugs will get to it plus the heat. Still, it's a wonderful sight for a short time each year. Not a perfect bloom on it but the color and masses of flowers make up for that.

  2. That sounds like my camellia bush -- incredible for a few minutes, then loaded with aphids!
