On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Who is making all the racket?

Well, I would be lying in bed with my laptop on this breezy, quiet Palm Sunday afternoon, but Rocket - or one of her friends - is crowing about the egg she just laid. The hens get so exuberant about their productions, one reason why I'm forever giving cartons of eggs to the neighbors, hoping that they'll not be too disturbed by the occasional noise.

I saw a participant in yesterday's sketchcrawl who asked me to call her whenever I have a yen to draw again. "I can go to the Plaza alone anytime," she said, "but it's so much more fun to go with someone else." She's right, and since I draw every day we'll probably be able to set up a date fairly soon.
