On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Ten and counting

I completed the tenth of my series of zentangles for the Santa Rosa, California Relay for Life to be held in September. I'll be making many, many more between now and then, and know they will be used to decorate the candle-lit luminaria ringing the track that night.

Today was a Read-to-the-Dog day at the public library. Demi was completely appropriate and seemed to enjoy the time with the children who practiced their reading skills with her.

I'm back walking, still coughing, but now I can cough and walk! It's spring, it's spring! The weather is almost always lovely and it feels great to be outside, usually walking Brix or Demi, or Brix and Demi, who appreciate the fresh air and exercise as much as I do. We made it through another winter, always the most pleasant of surprises.
