Touch of elegance
I couldn't stand it anymore so I suggested to Steve that we go to San Francisco and visit the Legion of Honor Museum for a break from the news and all the distress of the past week. There were three exhibits that I really wanted to see - Pulp Fashion: The Art of Isabelle de Borchgrave (incredible), Japanese illustrated books from a couple hundred years ago (I wonder what was lost in the tsunami) and the Polish-American miniaturist, Arthur Szyk. My brain was exploding with delight by all we saw. Our lunch break was in the museum café where we shared this wonderful platter topped off with pecan torte.
I'm revived, my world is a bit larger and more complete and I'm ready to resume normal life in my own little space.

It sounds like a wonderful day!
ReplyDeleteYes Rebecca -- It was only 4-1/2 hours, a wonderful mini-vacation.
ReplyDeletePS -- Another thing we have in common -- we both have alliterative names. Mine came by marriage, but still.... it's been my name for 45 years!
