On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Thirty days to clean

I'm beginning a major spring cleaning project and have given myself 30 days to bring things to correctness. Last night I stayed up late and completely emptied and cleaned the hall coat closet. Several items went directly into the washer. I found several jackets and hats for the local charity shop and a few itmes that simply need to be dry-cleaned. It was also a search and rescue mission for a couple lost items (so that's where that leash went!), and now I can cross one day and one project off my list. I feel better already!

This afternoon I was the docent at General Vallejo's Sonoma home. (It's the white carpenter gothic house almost invisible through the trees on the left side of the road.)

There were so many tourists visiting the site in spite of the inclement weather. Travelers came from Chicago, Iowa, Nebraska, San Francisco and local communities.

Hopefully I got some of the facts correct!
