On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Practice fun

Art Escapes, by Dory Kanter, is one of my favorite books to peek into when I'm looking for something to practice. Today I went back to the quartered pear, one I haven't tried for over a year. It was fun and now I'd like to use the same idea with complementary colors. Another day, another project.

  1. This looks like a fun project. You did a great job. I'm imagining all the different things one can do in each square.

  2. Definitely looks fun! I don't remember if I ever did something like that, but I sure would like to try it someday.

  3. I forgot I have this book. I need to dig it out and work through it. I bought it before I started drawing and painting anything so it was overwhelming but now it shoudn't be. You did a nice job on the pear.
