On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Unscheduled

I have absolutely nothing on my schedule for three entire days. I need this break. I've been working hard for several weeks and I relish the notion of getting home projects completed, reading, drawing and doing nothing.

It has rained for five days with new storms coming in. This morning we woke up to icy puddles and frost, but the real surprise was two feet of snow less than two hours from here. It never happens, I mean, it never snows there and it did! The only problem is that I read about it in the newspaper instead of seeing it in our front yard.

  1. We are getting the rain too!!! We need it sooo badly. It rained all night and still is. Sure it's really soft at times and never a huge downpour but sometimes I see it running down the dirt drive so it's adding up. Hooray! (We have a well so rain is really important to us besides just being good for the plants to get).

  2. This year we're way above average, a good thing.
