On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Life is short, eat dessert first

I don't always use common sense. Sometimes, in fact, I absolutely thwart it.

Take yesterday, for example. It's a long story, but in the end Steve and I ended up at a burger joint. I ordered one buttermilk biscuit slathered in mayonnaise with about two square inches of fried chicken sandwiched in. Steve shared some pinto beans, probably the one healthy thing except that I only ate about two tablespoons. And topped it all off with a chocolate milkshake, the kind where they bring you the metal shaker container so you get every ounce.

These aprons were hanging in the corner, it was that kind of place, and I absolutely loved it!

  1. My daughter pretty much lives by this saying. She is one very happy perosn even though she has her own share of troubles. Everyone should get to have junk food occasionally.

  2. That little biscuit of fried chicken goodness sounds so delicious that I've got a hankering for Popeye's Fried Chicken now - I'll get it for lunch tomorrow. Yummy!
