On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Last day of spring

We woke up to thick frost which eventually gave way to a warm spring afternoon. But two weeks of off and on rain begins tomorrow morning and the cold will return as well.

A month of spring was welcome, but we have to wait a bit longer for real spring. So what will happen to my camellias, the wild mustard and calendulas in the vineyards and the daffodils by the mailbox? Don't know. How cold will this be?

  1. We had a few nice days recently while my daughter and her family were visiting. Now, it's back to windy and cool. Ah well, the cold days will become farther apart and the warm ones more often as we head to "real" spring! I love your shells and pens. What a combo. You tied them together with your technique. Interesting.

  3. Thank you both. I'm trying to squeeze in momentary drawings that I can add to when I have another free moment -- thus the weird combination of pens and shells.
