On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Bonding outside of ourselves

We're sad and worried these days. Belle the Cat isn't doing well. She's lost a lot of weight and is having seizures. Because she's an old lady cat we're assuming she'll be leaving us soon.

Lately her appetite has picked up, good, maybe she'll regain some lost pounds, but the seizures have increased and are heartbreaking to witness. The veterinarian is prescribing medication to reduce the pressure on Belle's brain and we're hoping that will help.

I can't imagine life without animals, but the flip side is that life with animals is full of fear and concern.

  1. I can't imagine life without animals either. People are another matter (just kidding, sort of)! I'm sorry to hear your kitty is not doing well. Why couldn't we have similar life spans? I hope her new medicine helps.

  2. I'm so sorry you and Belle are going through this right now! Seizures are the worst because you can't even comfort them if they don't know what's going on. I wish you both the best of luck. And peace of mind.
