On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Improving in my old age

A ground cover of gingko leaves spotted this morning.
It's a week before Christmas and I'm ready! I'll wrap presents this weekend. Sometime between now and then I'll pick up a couple  of stocking stuffers, but that's always fun and this town is full of places to shop for stuff like that. I have a week to do it..

The reason I'm so elated (did you catch the tone?) is because this is so atypical of me.  I'm usually the frazzled one rushing around at the last minute, feeling rather joyless to boot.

I finally got my act together. What's frosting on the cake is that I didn't use a single credit card this year so don't have to sit in misery in January when the mail carrier arrives!  Yay, yay! I'm growing up....
