On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

How do I look?

My 11-year old grandson has been Skyping with me for several months with the laptop he bought using his own saved money during the summer. For Christmas he asked his parents for a webcam, which he got. Now, every time I get on the 'Net I have to brush my hair and glance in the mirror just in case he seeks me out -- which he does often!

Steve and I walked the dogs 2.5 miles this afternoon because they needed it and so did we. With all the rain it's been more challenging finding a dry space for exercise - and a new big storm is headed this way for tomorrow. I have a treadmill, but that doesn't help the dogs and they start getting restless and rowdy without daily walking.
