On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Honoring St. Nicholas

We're off to a St. Nicholas party and potluck, an annual parish event.  Steve has been preparing an Asian chicken and rice dish which our family loves. The vinegary sauce is wafting throughout the entire house and making me very hungry.

This morning I had a full view of the chancel area of the church and drew as much as I could.  There was a lot that I didn't put it, but that's OK, the most important elements -- the altar, especially -- are there.

Do you think Santa Claus will come to our party?

  1. Nice drawing. You can always hope Santa will put in a showing.

So what is that dish your husband made? I'm always looking for good, new dishes.
