On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Rainy, rainy day

We're in the midst of an all day rain with an all weekend rain in the forecast. Heaven on earth!

Steve and I are going to play tourist and have a rainy day lunch out on Sonoma Plaza. The original plan was to picnic in the park, but that's obviously not an option. Hopefully, we can find an indoor table somewhere. October Fridays are a wonderful time to visit our community, even in the rain, so I'm not sure what we'll be getting into.

In the meantime, Rosie outdid herself this morning and produced her largest egg thus far. It's as big as anything I've ever seen in the grocery store and makes me so very proud of her! She's still a pullet, just five months old, and I wasn't expecting anything this spectacular until next spring. Now, if she could only convince her sisters to start laying....
