On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Down to size

See, I told you! Sometimes more than one bird visits my office window feeder.

Lately I've become fascinated by the minimalists, the ones who own 100 or fewer items (two mugs, two forks, three shirts, etc.) and have been wondering what my list of 100 would look like. I would love to dismantle my life to that level! I'm thinking, however, as much as I want to get rid of "things" and "stuff" I might still need to hang on to this little window feeder. I'm allowed one bit of luxury, right?

  1. Cute birdies. More than a luxury. Surely they are theraputic.

I can't imagine 100 items. I'm trying to cut down but there is now way I could survive... I have to have things and beauty and textures and nice smells...they make life a joy.

  2. Now that's a concept! Why do we tend to own so many things? I am in awe of people who can live from a backpack... just in awe I tell you!
