On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

What I remember

Steve was watching an old movie this afternoon, one that began with the roar of the MGM lion.

When I was a little girl, say four or five years old, that was my favorite part of the film. When the MGM lion didn't appear - a competitor's flick - I left disappointed because that was all I came to see!

It's never taken much to please me. This week I'm reveling in the geraniums on our back deck. We lost a few in the February freeze -- I've never lost geraniums before -- but everything is in bloom now.

That, of course, makes me very happy.
