On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Beyond Painful

I'm taking tonight off here - no photos, no drawing - I've been so distracted by the Congressional hearings on the BP oil spill. This situation is so horrendous, so beyond my imagination of what horrible things can happen in this world, that I just can't quite wrap my little brain around it. I've told you before, I spend WAY too much time in front of CNN and MSNBC, so seeing that video of spewing oil for weeks on end, is corrupting my mind. Stop the leak! Why do they call it a leak anyway, aren't leaks small? This isn't a leak, it's a gusher, I can see it in my living room! Glub, glub.....

  1. I too find it so very drepressing to watch the oil gush and the animals die - it is an unimagineable catastrophe -

  2. I keep hearing that someday the leak will be sealed off....
