On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Sheep shearing

Today was the annual sheep shearing at General Vallejo's Petaluma Adobe, a California Historic Park site. Being from the urbs myself, I had never seen a sheep get shorn in any up close and personal way so I took scads of photos. For this display only four sheep were used - one every 30 minutes, not the 2-minute intervals of a regular workday.

So now you've been there too!

  2. Ah, ready for summer now! And we can use the wool to get ready for winter. I wish I could get my dogs to stay on their backs better for brushing - well just staying still for brushing would be nice.
