On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Where did the time go?

Oh my goodness, the entire week just slipped away from me! I wish I could say that I've been drawing all day, every day, but alas! 'taint so.

But I did take youngest daughter to the Muir Woods National Monument on Friday and it was an awesome trip for both of us. I'm trying to teach myself some plant names so it's sort of iffy whether I got them correctly identified. But I think I found a stand of horsetail fern....

lots of bay laurel trees.....

sorrel all over the place.....

and the giant economy sized redwood burl.

On the way to Muir Beach we passed this turkey walking across the road. What a great day!
