On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Rainy night

I am becoming more and more fascinated with Prismacolor pencils. I followed a tutorial to draw these cherries but have no idea whose tutorial I was following! I've had it for a decade or more but never used it.

That's the thing about cleaning and sorting through old junk. Most of it can be safely pitched, but there are also these little finds that have been sitting there waiting to be discovered.

It's been raining off and on this evening and a couple larger storms are coming through tonight and tomorrow. The sun today, until the clouds gathered, was absolutely blinding to my winterized eyes.

Beautiful colors! Yes, it is the secret. Lots of layers and keeping a very sharp point, too. BTW, what kind of paper are you using? It was suggested to me by someone on EDM to try matboard. And the pencils just take to the matboard so wonderfully. If you have any scraps laying around, try it and see what you think.
