One sad day
On Saturday morning Steve and I attended the memorial service of a woman who died, at age 40, of metastatic breast cancer. One of her obituaries was HERE. She left her husband and two young children. Over 1,000 people attended this funeral, her reach was that great.
That evening I stayed more to myself, thinking through the day. I made a third attempt at painting this same pelican. The ocean eludes me, it looks as much like sky as it looks like water. It's so frustrating when your do-overs need to be done over. But I'm still alive, I can do my do-overs, I can still do them over and over and over again.
Keep that attitude, girl...
ReplyDeleteWater is difficult enough in watercolor, I cannot imagine trying to do it in colored pencil! But, I think you've done a nice job of it and the pelican!
ReplyDeleteBarbara, I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend. It was a sad day. I think your pelican looks great! It can be frustrating trying to paint or draw something and it doesn't turn out how you want it to. Could it be the death of your friend is weighing on your mind?
