On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Practice day

I tried drawing wild calendula again this morning using Prismacolor pencils and ink. I need to find ways to brighten the colors, yes, I know that.

My next task was to draw a couple kids at Juvenile Hall. I can't put their faces in because of confidentiality issues, but these two are unidentifiable and gave me an opportunity to practice drawing people doing people things.

  1. I like the sketch of the kids - geometric and interesting.

Hope you are feeling better. Still, you managed to capture 2 interesting bits. I like the leaf layering you did under the flower. Agree the shapes and proportions on the kids is very well done.
