The all important doodle diary
I once took an art therapy class in which we were asked to maintain a Doodle Diary. A what?? What in hell is a doodle diary?
It's as nothing as it sounds. A doodle diary is another form of art journaling. When you can't draw, don't know what to draw, have nothing to draw about and don't know how to draw it, etc., etc., etc., you doodle and you doodle in a diary. That is, you do it daily, that's what "diary" means.
So here I am today. I worked a couple hours, real work, but only for a couple hours. I slept in this morning, knocked off those hours and had nothing to draw, no inspiration. That's when you pull out your Doodle Diary (are you laughing at me???) and you just doodle in your diary.
So I did. And two more pages got filled in the process. That's how it works.
Very fun doodles in your doodle diary! I love that idea! nancy
ReplyDeleteI will be starting one of these very soon, thanks!
ReplyDeleteWonderful job of it, too!
ReplyDeleteI love it! I keep a journal with me all the time but didn't write in it all that often. Since using it as a sketch book practice I've used it more and I love the idea of keeping it as a doodle diary. You have awesome doodles :)
ReplyDeleteDoodling is incredibly underrated! It looks like you had so much fun doodling too! They're really wonderful!
ReplyDeleteHurray for doodle diaries! And (looking back a few posts) congratulations on your docent-ing!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Everyone. Sometimes simple doodling "is all she wrote!" - Barbara
