On 01.02.02, I was diagnosed with metastatic breast cancer. Too late for surgery, I had chemotherapy, which failed. In May the chemotherapy was changed and I was soon in remission which was celebrated and welcome and lasted nine years - until October 2011. There was progression in 2011 so more treatment was indicated and I am now back in partial remission. But I'm not only a cancer patient - I also enjoy my family, walk my dogs and am learning to draw and paint. Life is good!

Rainy day fun

After reading GOOD MAIL DAY which I mentioned a few posts ago, I became interested in participating in the practice of mailing pieces of my art to strangers who might reciprocate.

It actually happened the other way around. Russell, in Dallas, surprised me by sending this awesome pen and ink sketch a few days ago. I absolutely love it! He understands perspective better than I do and his style is confident and delicate at the same time.

Returning the favor is a bit daunting. In the end I'm offering him my latest sketch of Demi, also in pen and ink. I hope he enjoys it even if I'm not yet to his skill level.

It rained off and on today and is supposed to continue for the next many days, sometimes with something impressive. This is my kind of weather. Active weather like this never gets any better!
